Výstava / Lenka Vítková: Uzemnění/Grounding

Aktuální obrazy Lenky Vítkové zkoumají rozhraní organického a anorganického. Výstava zve k zamyšlení nad tím, jakými jsou rostliny mediátory mezi oběma těmito světy a jak se tyto světy projevují ve vztahu ke světu lidskému a k umění. Rostliny symbolizují uzemnění, zakořenění, koexistenci s okolím, které je otevřené, neohraničené a směřuje až k anorganickému světu vzdálených hvězd. Jaký význam má umění pro svět rostlin a jaký pro lidský svět?  

Na každém plátně je prostý motiv rostliny. Tvar, umístění a barevnost se na řadě obrazů opakuje, doplňuje, vyvažuje. Některé z rostlin poznáme podle tvaru listů, některé zůstávají méně konkrétní, abstrahované na tenkou linii, stopu, jeden tah štětcem. Lenka maluje pomalu, s rozvahou pokrývá hrubé plátno  plochami pečlivě volených barevných pigmentů. Každý detail dává do vztahu s dalšími detaily na obraze a znovu je vzájemně přehodnocuje. Listy, stonky nebo stvoly se paprskovitě sbíhají do jednoho bodu v zemi, kde jsou ukotvené. Centrum rostliny se stává spojnicí pro plynutí, vzájemné prolínání, setkávání toho, co je nahoře, a toho, co je dole.  

Některé obrazy tento horizont popírají, rostlina se stává více obrazcem, znakem, který nám rostlinu může jen připomínat. Tušíme, že je to rostlinný tvar, dílo, které je odkázané na lidské vnímání a interpretaci. Tvůrčí proces je ekosystémem umění, kde se živé myšlenky a inspirace setkávají s materiálem a formami, do kterých jsou vepsané.  

Lenka Vítková se ve své umělecké praxi zabývá především malbou a textem, s přesahy do dalších médií. Pro její tvorbu je příznačné prolínání osobních témat s kosmickými perspektivami a hledání celků ve ztracených fragmentech. Aktuálně působí spolu s Denisou Bytelovou v atelieru Volné umění II na Vysoké škole uměleckoprůmyslové.

en Lenka Vítková's current paintings explore the interface between the  organic and inorganic. The exhibition invites us to reflect on what  plants are mediators between these two worlds and how these  worlds manifest themselves in their relationship to the human world and to art. Plants symbolize grounding, rootedness, coexistence  with an environment that is open, unbounded and reaching out to  the inorganic world of the distant stars. What is the significance of  of art for the plant world and what is the meaning of art for the  human world? 

Each canvas has a simple plant motif. Shape, placement and colour  scheme is repeated, complemented, balanced in many of the  paintings. Some of the plants are recognisable by the shape of their  leaves, some remain less concrete, abstracted to a thin line, a trace, a single brushstroke. Lenka paints slowly, deliberately covering the  rough canvas with areas of carefully chosen colored pigments. She  puts each detail in relationship with other details on the painting  and reassesses them in relation to each other. Leaves, stems or  stalks are ray-like converge to a point in the ground where they are  anchored. Centre of the plant becomes a conduit for the flow, the  intermingling, the meeting of what's above and what's below. 

Some paintings deny this horizon, the plant becomes more a figure,  a sign that can only remind us of the plant. We suspect that it is a  plant shape, a work that is dependent on human perception and  interpretation. The creative process is an ecosystem of art, where  living ideas and inspiration meet the materials and forms in which they are inscribed. 

In her artistic practice, Lenka Vítková deals primarily with painting and text, with overlaps into other media. Her work is characterized by interweaving personal themes with cosmic perspectives and the search for wholes in lost fragments. Currently she works together with Denisa Bytelová in Free Art II studio at the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague (UMPRUM).
