Lubomír Typlt: The Heavens Have Closed Their Grip 13/1 – 23/3 2023

Images controlled by the subconscious, color contrasts, abundance of sensory sensations, pulsating friction of opposites.

Typlt has long devoted himself to the subject of the figure and the human head, in his paintings full of sensual sensations he suggestively records the wonderful moments of everyday life, shrouded in the veil of poetry and mystery. His work is a combination of painterly skill, the maximum reflexivity of the medium and the captivating power of expression sharpened by its color. In short, it breaks through the filled spaces with full force.

Lubomír Typlt (1975) studied painting at the VŠUP in Prague and at the FaVU in Brno. He graduated in Germany at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf with Markus Lüpertz and A.R. Penck. In his work, he draws from the roots of German neo-expressionism, but the influences of surrealism, which denies a realistic understanding of the world, are also evident.
